The final track of my Ramayana project, an attempt to capture scenes from the Hindu epic in music. After rescuing her from the clutches of Ravana, the demon king, Rama forces his wife to prove she has not slept with the demon. Once she does this, through a trial of fire, he accepts her, and they begin to rule as king and queen of Ayodhya. However, tongues begin to wag and various tragedies such as a drought are attributed to Sita's having likely been unfaithful to Rama while in captivity. Rama finally decides that he cannot run a kingdom with such dissent bubbling beneath the surface, so he sends his wife into exile, unaware that she is pregnant with his twin sons. Sita spends 20 years in the wilderness with the sage Valmiki, who helps her raise the two boys and teaches them the Ramayana, which he has been composing. At a festival, Rama hears them singing of his exploits, and before long he has discovered his horrible mistake: Sita, even after his distrust and banishment of her, has remained faithful and taught her sons to love their father. Rama seeks to accept her again, but it is too late for their earthly romance: only when reunited as the gods they truly are (Lakshmi and Vishnu) in the other world will their happiness be rekindled.

What a beautiful piece of music you've gifted us with.
And what a beautiful story. Didn't read the Ramayana, but I think I'm gonna fill this gap ASAP.
Great, Dave. Really great.

Just beautiful! Just down right beautiful!!! About as beautiful as you can get! The love story is told by the sweetness of the music. I love the swaying, lifting, and soothing synth. The rhythm is superb. Did I say this was beautiful? smiley

This piece is nothing short of exquisite. I'm not sure what else to say -- "exquisite" isn't hyperbole, and pretty much says it all, IMO.
