Close to a year ago my cousin Mike and his and our family and I lost my cousin CeCe (pictured to the Left) to cancer. She was an inspiration and a positive force for good. We all remember her fondly and miss her daily.

About the same time, a friend of mine (Mike Coykendall) had just released a slow ballad that I thought embodied her spirit and stance (outlook) on life and so I quickly recorded the song my own way and posted it.

Though the production here is imperfect and full of flaws, I decided to post this song anyways because of it's spirit, and dedicate it to my cousin Mike Rickett and his awesome sons. I send this out with love.

Great tune!

I never met your cousin, but her photo is beautiful. You can really see the kindness in her smile.

I used to play with a drummer named Mike Ricketts in Illinois. Any relation?

Nice solo and super swell ending. Cool of you to remember these loved ones and promote the good life (the 'real' good life).

For reasons I can not understand, I was drawn to this particular song out of all the songs in your catalog.

One of the reasons I haven't played music since 1995 is that it's the year we found out my wife Sharon had cancer. When she died in 1996 the music left me and hasn't really come back until just recently. When I read the story of the song and looked as CeCe's picture I couldn't believe it. CeCe looks so much like my Sharon she could almost be her double. It brought back a lot of very wonderful, and very painful memories for me.

I have some songs which I have not posted that are dedicated to my Sharon. One of these days I'll clean them up and give them a proper send off for Sharon.

In the meantime I'll listen to some of your music and remember that it takes a special person to remember someone in their life through there music.

Thank you very much for sharing this with me and everyone. Even though you were right about it not being the kind of music I'd normally, listen to, in this case I did listen, and I do like what you did, and why.

Now I do understand.

Your new friend
