It's called the Gauntlet, because that is what I went through to create this track. I recently collaborated with BossHook "Cant Get You Undressed"
http://www.icompositions.com/music/song.php?sid=67623

And with Baboon, "In the Minute"
http://www.icompositions.com/music/song.php?sid=67831

And then got this crazy idea to hear them both on a song together. So I wrote the track and then, "God Forgive Me", took the vocals from both sings that were different keys, and tempo's and spent many hours splicing/dicing/time-stretching almost every word, syllable or phrase that I liked. Oh and then tuning a bit. In other words, neither BH or Baboon have ever heard thist track nor did they sing to it. I am a MAD SCIENTIST smiley, still rough around the edges but I'll finish it in a podcast for Unscripted Audio, call it a Grand Experiment and a teaser., I hope you and they enjoy.

Woooow! what a great job you made here, Tom!
To be an "uncounscious" collab, the whole track sounds tight, like both Boss and Babs knew exactly what they were doin'. awesome.
One of these days you'll explain me how did ya do it, mad scientist.
Huge soundscape, hyperproduction (as usual).

This is crazy. I would never have guessed what you did if you didn't let me in on your naughty little secret. Guitars are swell and as always your tunes pack in so much energy.

Whoah. This is flawless. I feel like I have multiple personalities now.

You could power a small town for a month from the energy in this song.

Very good job on sewing pieces and personalities together. Sort of a cool Dr. Frankenstein experiment with quite interesting results. smiley

I'd really like to thank all my friends, and yes, you are all my friends. Like it or not. smiley

This did take many hours of hard, tedious(only because it is so very time-consuming) and much loved work. I am glad you all like it. Hopefully because it's a good track and not because I was chained to my computer for at least 60 or so hours (with a few breaks) and you feel sorry for me because I have no life and far too much time on my hands!! smiley smiley smiley smiley smiley smiley smiley smiley smiley smiley smiley

First impression...I'm still out of tune...lol. Thanks! Boss is in key, though. Concept is good and racing. Seriously...my parts are way out of tune half the time (cringe). You picked one of my worst vocal phrases to repeat...agony! haha. But, I really like the vehicle. Ton of surprises and vibrant energy. Very weird to hear oneself mashed...lol. I'll get over it...heh. The design of this badboy is monstrous...kudos on that (still wish I could tweak my vox a bit, but hey no big whoop). Good job on the techie aspect of this and the music.

Babs, in my world there is no such thing as out of tune scatting. We call it "open and free scat" and I love it. Producers always take the thing that bugs an artist the most and runs with it. "Free Fallin" - Tom Petty hated it so much but Jeff Lynne runs with it, "I Want to Hold Your Hand" - Beatles thought it made them sound too teeny bopper and not legit enough like Elvis, etc. et al.

Thanks Bh, I really didn't know how to respond to Baboons comments other then, sorry you sang out of tune? Seriously, the parts are used for accents to help hype the action. there's a lesson in here for everyone, performance and feel are more important than perfect pitch. And as a producer it's more about the whole, being more important then it's parts. It took over, well, it took many, many hours of hard work to find the parts that gave me the feel I was looking for, and then more hours to place and stretch them to fit. Baboons original collab was sung in a different key and at a much slower tempo. Babs sorry you feel that way. I think the parts I used helped to make everyone else who commented like it as much as they did.
