The ninth track in my Ramayana project, a musical interpretation of the ancient Indian epic.

After Surpanakha's humiliation at the hands of Rama and Lakshmana, the demonness rushed to her uncle, Khara, general of the rakshasa army in the province of Dandaka, which bordered the Vindhya Hills and Chitrakuta. Enraged, Khara brought the whole of his might down upon the exiles, an army of thousands... but Rama, using the divine weapons he'd been given access to as a teen, quickly wiped out the rakshasa forces, beheading the general at the end. Rama had no inkling that this battle was the harbinger of a coming war.

Other pieces in the projectó
Death's Silver Noose Slipped Round His Soul
Rama's Sandals on the Throne
Peace in the Vindhya Hills
Rakshasi Love (Surpanakha's Lament)
Caves of Kishkindha
Hanuman Searches Lanka for Sita
Building the Bridge to Lanka
Battling the Demon Hordes
Sita in Exile

Interesting. I like the concept, and the piece is suitably sweeping to encompass the wide range of emotions in the story. Good stuff.

Tough and head-on. Hard and right. An interesting musical twist on the theme. Me likes.

I thought I'd miss read it, DavidBowles .. metal .. well now I've listened it seems nothing wrong with my eyesight, you do do metal, prog rock, needs a bit more bottom end bass in the mix, but that was good stuff. You're incredibly talented DB, across so many styles and genres, seemingly with total ease.

Thanks, Dave... I played hard rock and metal in high school with a band called New Citizens, and I still retain a love of the genre (I particularly like Soundgarden, Disturbed and Chevelle at this moment in my life).

A tiny dash of Sabbath with just a hint of Slayer but essentially original. Good Hooking riff holds it all together.
