This is a staple in the TEAM LANDRETH repetoire. I had my pal Julene Gravett help me with the drum arrangement, ( as in she programmed it )and she really kicked my butt on this one. Thanks, Julie, it sounds great.

Joe plays slide guitar, and wouldn't stop playing, he was having so much fun. ( he thinks he's Sonny Landreth some times.. )

I played the acoustic and high strung guitar, mandolin, and fretless bass. This was a real learning experience, and I love LOGIC PRO even more now!

Wally, this is maybe one of your finest tunes, and for sure one of the finest tunes I've listened to in a while. period. A little miracle, I'd say.
The fantastic theme, the great instrumentation and arrangement (I love those slides), your awesome lyrics and vocals (WOW) put this song on a different, higher level.
Wally and Joe, you're something else.
OK, monday morning, 7:00 AM, here and now. It's time to get some caffeine for myself.
Thanks for the ride, pal. You just made my day.

Fabulous song, performance and production. Some of that slide work is sublime, you have such a distinctive voice, and it always tells such a great tale.

Incidentally I was in Dublin last week and Funkier provided me with a great soundtrack .. couldn't get it out of my mind, so I'm really pleased to have a new team Landreth tune to download and enjoy.

Thanks
Dave

darn fantastic! Just finished a cup of coffee that wasn't nearly as tasty as this. The slide work is beautiful sweet cream, the fretless bass is perculating. The whole thing is just as good as the smell of fresh ground beans!

excellent work!

It's amazing how the Cult of Landreth shows up for the party and I almost missed it.

It's a wonderful tune. As usual. smiley

I love it.

Like Fulvio said, one of your finest. But you've set a pretyy high bar with Chase Your Blues and I'm a Carpenter. Two songs that make this site a truly special place. Not to mention the great stuff Jr's doing. I mean I can't rave any more about Bird Song and Simple Life anymore can I? I guess I can (and I did!)

But this is damn close... damn close...

A very different sort of track. I loved the -- what can you call it -- 'progressive Bluegrass?' intro. Did I hear a banjo? The banjo is such a great instrument.

The singer sounds a whole lot like Robert Lamm of early Chicago ("Does Anyone Really Know What Time It Is?" smiley

The vibe of the lyrics, and the delivery, evoke comparisons to songs from Switchfoot (and that's a big compliment in my book).

OK, now I think the banjo I thought I heard must have been a mandolin. Hmm, why don't I read the description of the song?

OK, it's confirmed. It's a mandolin. (But you knew that.) It's well-played, and well-placed in your arrangement.

The lead guitar sounds well-schooled in rock technique and feel. No amateurs on this track.

Best,

John Stebbe
