I finished this song months ago, but never exported to iTunes... just rediscovered it and finished it off. I wrote this about four years ago as part of a concept album about the characters Ponkey and Vlad (a kind of Don Quixote and Sancho Pancha pair). Vlad is the name of my old acoustic guitar, and the album featured us setting off on various adventures, including Vlad's murder of his lover in this song. Part two is one of a handful of songs that I have composed on the piano - unfortunately I don't have a piano, so I'm not sure when I will be able to record it. Just as a teaser, the first couplet is "I killed you yesterday/But I hate you less today."

Musically, I was having a go here at the Velvet Underground. Lyrically, this is kind of a game - the last word of each line gets incorporated into the first half of the next line (way > away, reflection > reflected etc.). I'm quite pleased with the concept, and its deliberate breakdown at the end of the song where the narrator gets more and more frantic.
