This is a deep piece. Very good piano intro. Great feeling in those keys.

A vortex of sadness, this piece is dramatic in it's tone, but terribly lonely in it's message, well your mission is complete, it made me sad, at the same time I revel in it's sculpture and sounds...It's a very good track JK..

I'm often intimidated before pressing play on your songs - your music is never easy listening, always demanding undivided attention in order to decipher the sonic complexities and chaotic textures. It is interesting to hear you take a more austere approach here, letting the subtle intricacies and timbre of the keys provide the major aural interest.

What I love about your work is that right from the onset, notions of song structure become irrelevant and I'm swept up in the unusual dynamics and surges provided by the always tastefully selected instrumentation. There are no aesthetic hierarchies in your songs - every element seems to me equally important, in a Zen like fashion, to the overall effect. Rather than anticipating sounds to come, or wishing for the repetition of previous melodic segments, every musical moment blossoms and mesmerizes.

I'm also fascinated by your unconstrained approach to timing - you take liberties with rhythm to marvelous expressive effect!

Anyway, another stunner from you!

Wistful indeed - and original, demanding, complex, sparse. And wonderful...

The comments about sculpture, free rhythms, and zen make the think that yes, my music is often more about SPACE than TIME. You are correct, pure, that believe-it-or-not this is much more austere approach than usual for me -- the "melodic segments" even more repetitious than usual. THANKS to everyone for your thoughtful comments and support -- so appreciated. I spent all day getting sad before I recorded this one smiley

Full of emotion and atmosphere. When I listen to music I often think of pictures. But when I listen to your music 3D sculptures appear to me. Maybe it is because you tend to approach to a theme from different perspectives. It is like watching a statue from different points of the room. Excellent composition here again, bravo Justin!

what a piece of music! Yes, those vortices (spelling?) - I've been through them. Atmospheric and haunting - while at the same time up close and personal - truly wonderful to listen to.

Very nice listen. I liked it. Thats for me the most important. To me it sounded almost like a minimalist approach, but combined with a dark and emotional expression.
Thanks for sharing.

A masterpiece my friend. I love you're pianoplaying. One might think that it's out of rhythm or melody, but you're always doing it right. And then when I got sucked in, the vortex arrives. It displays another quality of you, the mixing of sounds into great atmospheres. No wonder you make game music, you're a true wizzard in greating moods and settings. I enjoyed this one very much and I thank you for that!

Agree with PP about you are not easy listening.
I miss some nuances given by orchestration, or volume, or a real piano sound (that would be too Fortunato-ish).
Keep being weird. Nice to enjoy.

I agree with Pure... your music is never easy listen ...
That's why I press the play button with no fear and happy heart.
And this is really brilliant ! Keep in mind the Stainway ...

I see what u meant with the "vortex"

Thanks very much, friends. This piece came together in an interesting and lovely way. Maybe I should make an album of "easy listening" just to balance things out a little more? smiley

I think I will take you up on the offer of a real piano, Marin...I'll be in touch. I've just been just synthin' it on the 'interstellar low wayz" since I moved to Arizona -- need to raise money for a real piano again -- I miss too much the touch of the acoustic instrument.

Thanks again to everyone for your listens and comments.

Beautiful! I love it from begining to end - all the changes that occur happen at the right time. I also like the disjointed feeling you get from the piano performance in the intro. Every change that takes place carries you right to the end. I also like how you approach the midpoint of the score -the production kicks in at the right moment and the song continues to transform. You weaved the piano back in at the right moments.

I picture an outmoded janitor on a creaky bus ride, attempting to sort out out the shambles of his wasted life, suddenly getting completely lost in childhood dreams and nightmares at the timeless turning of a kaleidoscopic traffic light, through which he can never pass, content to stare in wonder.
