This has a very Toad the Wet Sprocket feel to it - which, in my opinion, is a great compliment because those guys really know how to work a catchy guitar. I'm thinking the verses in "Come Back Down". But enough comparisons, this song is so comforting. The main melodic progression is stunning and has so much potential - and you definitely exploit that protential.

There is something truly remarkable about songs with only a few layers that truly manage to captivate me. I like the contemporary lyrics with modern references - really grounds the song in reality. Great stuff, GDC. Something else I really like is the title: "Go Away, Come Again". It's a twofold thing:

1.) I like the duality. Coming and going, ebb and flow.
2.) Bbut I love the double entendre. Go Away, Come again? Like, excuse me? There's a sense of disbelief, of surprise, that someone would tell you to leave.

Now, please allow me to stop by and visit the rest of your catalogue.

This is songwriting that I aspire to. It has a lovely, solitary and intimate feel to it. I've listened to two of your tracks now and the guitar is wonderful. Is there any chance of making the production slightly 'brighter' - it sounds a bit flat, or maybe that's my computer? Just a minor quibble - thanks for another excellent song.

Thank you both. Very much.

I agree that there is something "flat" about the guitar recording, and the guitar strings are OLD. Hmmm...maybe it is time to change them! Maybe a light reverb effect dulls it too?

On a side note, the Folk category has once again surpassed the Blues category...and I like that. Let's keep putting them out there (in both categories, of course!).

real nice!
If you want to pump the brightness you could try and copy the track, then crank up some effects or treble/eq on the new track. I think the warmness and mid range of the first track would be complimented by a second layer with more treble. also if you pan each track left and right a bit you'll get more depth.

It sounds like you don't use a pick, I don't either and I have trouble recording in the high ranges.

Anyway, great song, well played and sung!

If you were my neighbor, I would cut your grass for you to free up more time for you to keep making music. And I hate cutting the grass.

Heartfelt. I'd brighten the guitar a tad, make a great recording into an even better one. Imho. Nice work!
