This is a SONIC ATTACK. I am going for the bleeding eardrums people. I wish there were 12s on amps. Part of it is a trib to my fave iC band from Maui (re: song- Big Cats In Mukawau) So... even though the only two oceans I know personally are the Pacific Northwest Coast and the ocean of snow outside my window, I tried a surf song. or a surf envy song.... this is a pre release song from new album exclusive to iC.

i'm holding in a bubble
iiii think im in some trouble
no matter what the weather
can't really seem to
get our **** together
i wandur what its about
you never really seem to shout
yu'll never really bother
giving it yur all
its not even your fault
thaaaats just another sorry ex
cuse .. throwing at me all your ab
uuuse.. pounding on my body
funneling through
feeling oh so hollow
I'm glued to what I'm standing
oooon careful not to do it
wroooong but if you think its easy
you can take my place
and not get ripped to peices
we are losing all the ground we
made but I'm glad I never really
stayed out of all the pounding
rolling up and toss
my friends like they were sounding

I play this one lots at home (thanks for the advance screening!). I really like that you pulled some of the effects off the vocal tracks. It allows me to turn it up even louder! Yeah this latest version rawks even harder. Hey, why not use that opening drum loop for the entire song? It would seem to fit the lo-fi sound real nice. Anyways, you are the master, and I am but the student...

This is the greatest. Words sync with the music really well, and though hard to understand without reading them, it all works. I even like the guitar solo!

Great lyrics and melody, great concept, overall great tune. Love the FX on the Vox before each line! Very original.

A couple of suggestions on the production aspect (not to be confused with the writing or performance, which is stellar):

First, the intro seems a bit long (i.e. too long before getting to the lyrics); you have twenty seconds of drums, then another 30+seconds of guitar before the vox starts. I'd cut the intro to something like eight to twelve bars, then move in with the Vox.

Second, I would add a middle eight or bridge to break up the song a little in the middle, otherwise you might lose the full attention of the listener before the song is complete. The bridge can still be in your face rock-on stuff, but if you add a section to the middle of the song with a slight rhythmic change and chord progression, it takes the listener to a different place sonically for a few bars before bringing them back.

Anyway, nice job. Keep it up.

i actually thought of this all during the production.. it was a bit of a toss up. Contrary to what some may believe I carefully consider how the song is constructed before I release it. Its easy to leave vocal eq's to a moderate unchallenging audio experience for example. With total respect to your suggestions and no bad feelings I think if you listen again to the context of the recording. I wanted the beginning to have a slight feel of the hawaii 5-0 but not exactly like it. The build up was what I was looking for. Now picture yourself on a surfboard or and device/vehicle you have moderate to no control over as you are overwhelmed by the forces driving or pushing you. then things go bad and you are basically just hanging on for your life and doing your best to keep from hitting the coral. Its just a euphamism but the context is what drove the song to its manic out of control distracted state. Right up to the dualing solos fading in and out. But thats just my interpretation of this experience. I love that you like the performance so much. That gives me enough to enjoy that I achieved part of what I was going for. i think its great people actually listen to the whole song.

more like this coming but more cohesive.

and thanks again

appreciate the suggestions

Makes sense. It all depends what you want to achieve. I love challenging music that most of my friends run from (PiL, Skinny Puppy, etc.) and I love more conventional tunes as well. Listening to your stuff, you're capable of both, and this song I think is one that challenges pre-concieved notions of what a "song" is. But hey, that's what art is all about. It makes you think and feel.

Keep it up. You have talent.

This genius piece of music is very original also from the lyric aspects unique. There might be very good covers but they never can be better than the original. This one is full with energy which goes directly into my blood...yeah.

non stop rock going on here... sonic attack is a great description for this. Production is rough, but endearingly so. I love the fact that you get into a groove and never ever come out of it on this.

My ears kind of hurt now. It's kind of like when you have really really hot coffee and your mouth is screwed up for days. I can sort of make out a good song in all that madness but it's buried under layers of noise. I don't get it.

This song fits you better than anything I've heard you do. I wouldn't change a thing.

Maybe I'm just starting to hear the method in the madness!
