Here is an instrumental interlude from the Red Earth Oratorio... an ongoing labor of love, other parts of which I've posted here. Definitely a work in progress

Instrumentation: Solo flute and harp with woodwind quartet (flute, 2 clarinets and bassoon).

Another piece from the "Red Earth" series! I recall listening to and enjoying the choral work you posted under this name. I've come to expect a wonderfully modern and personal sound world from your works. I like the dialogue between the harp and various wind groups. I always look forward to your eccentric, but compelling harmonies. The trilling is nice in the flute part when paried with the prickly, melodic runs of the harp. These are delicate and delightful sound expressions. Thanks for sharing your compositions with us.

Wonderful play between the instruments and very evocative both visually and aurally. Will definitely be going to listen to the rest of the pieces. Cheers!

Much enjoyed--very rhapsodic, yet grounded as well. Bravo!

byHeart Artist Lovely evocative piece! GB has done well with the authentic sound of the harp and woodwinds and you have made such good use of them. I like the spaces ("breaths" smiley between musical statements--they seem to help capture the open landscape that inspires the piece. Thanks for sharing this very enjoyable listen!

Very pleasant piece with catchy movements, harmonic and alternate conversation of harp, flute and strings, that makes the listener curious at any moment, about what element will come next..
