My setting of the anonymous medieval "Corpus Christi" lyric. It's a modern-day madrigal with a life of its own.

Refrain:
Lully, Lullay, Lully Lullay
The Falcon hath bourne my love away.

Verse:
He bare him up, he bare him down
He bare into an orchard brown.

Deep in that orchard, There was a great hall
hanged with purple and pall.

And in that hall there was a bed
And that bed was decked with red and gold.

And in that bed there lay a knight,
His wounds bleeding day and night.

And by that bedside knelt a maiden
Weeping, weeping day and night.

Lovely! I like the piano part. I also like the chord progressions which don't always proceed to places one would expect them.

Well, this is terrific Mary.
Nothing particularly 'student-ish" about it to my ears.
Just a finely crafted song.
