Over a year and half ago, ddball uploaded his version of this song. ( http://www.icompositions.com/music/song.php?sid=51321 ) At that time I shared in a comment how we used to sing this song back in the '70s at meetings and Bible studies. I also told him I might cover it so he could get an idea of how it might have sounded at one of those meetings.

I'm no singer, but I decided to give it a shot. This isn't perfect by any stretch, but I think it's pretty honest. I hope the bass in the guitar is not too much, I tried to bring it down a bit. I tried to mix it so it would sound very live (with mistakes and all) and very intimate. Let me know what you think.

georgeptingley Artist Very heartfelt and beautiful. Reminds me of going to folkmass back in the 60's. I miss the simple idealism of those times. Request: we need to hear more of this stuff.

The guitar sounds wonderful... whatever you did to balance out the range must have worked beautifully. It supports and doesn't overshadow, and lets the vox shine though, as it should. Nice work.

I listened to Georgeptingley's version first, then this one. While they are both spot on, I think I prefer this one. It has a more "live" feel to it.

Thanks.

Yes, honest and present. Thanks for sharing this. Good guitar work. How does one learn how to play like that?

rschletty, you're making me blush! I don't think I'm that great of guitarist, but thanks just the same. I guess we'll just chalk it up to over 30 years of playing.

You're bound to get one right once in awhile. smiley
