Hearing MessengerBoy's heartfelt rendition of HOLY, HOLY has flooded me with memories of those wonderfully idealistic times called the 60's. Oh yes, I was there: I was the one hiding behind the pillar at that Catholic folk mass playing amplified bass. Bass and nine other tracks have been added to this recording including the inevitable tambourine - you know that instrument invariably put in the hands of someone who could not keep time. And flute - always played by some impossibly pretty, underaged blonde with freckles. Now back to more churchly thoughts. Enjoy!

ddball is credited as collaborator as he started the ball rolling on this one with his own heartfelt rendition found here:

I really like what you added George!

Believe it or not, before I uploaded my version, I was playing around with adding piano and a synth pad and it was actually very similar to what you've added. I'm glad you took the next step. Now, you've got me thinking about doing some more songs from this era. I'm gonna have to find my old book of lead sheets. Thanks!

I was a 10 year old playing acoustic in the folk mass at 9:30 am circa 1976. We never had the pretty freckled face flute player. Our flute player was a guy in his 50's who wore courdoroy top to bottom and had a wicked comb over... Yahwew we know you are near!
