I'm on cable broadband too, the 20Mb service and iComp is sometimes very slow for me. The chat can be particularly bad. It's not my browser either, as it's the same in Safari, Firefox and Camino.

Hmmm... I'm on cable and it is usually pretty quick. Only iComp page load have (sometimes) been very slow. Occasionally so slow that the browser only seems to hang.

I am having similar issues but mine may be related to dial-up. iComp seems to be crashing my browser. I even loaded a different browser, but iComp crashes it also.

Is it just me or is iComp been getting more and more sluggish lately? Sometimes speed is "OK" and other times my browser feels like it hangs waiting for a page to load.

When it gets bad, I try other sites and those pages load in quickly. It doesn't seem to be my connection.

Anyone else experiencing this?

I write and play a lot of different styles...but my main focus has been acoustic, lately.

In that vein, this one was the most spontaneous (I wrote it in about an hour) and is pretty popular among my listeners, both live and on-line.

I don't know that I'd call it a (or even "my") masterpiece...but it holds a great deal of meaning for me.

I hope I have not written my best tune yet. I think of my music as a kind of childs macaroni art on the refrigerator. You know the ones with macaroni glued to a piece of paper. It means something to the kid who made it and they wanted to share it. My music is the same. It is nothing special but I want to share it. The song I created that I most enjoy is "Now Joe, Now" I created it for the Olympic Spirit contest. It is an emotional piece for me but for others it might be just simple macaroni art when compared to the great artists on iComp.

im on macjams as well as here, 2 different vibes. more hip hop presence here i find. the hop presence on macjams is weak..I enjoy that site as well as this one. I do admit i like the interface better in macjams though. Just giving my honest opinion.

as far as DL is concerened I think in order to have the option to DL you should be a registered member. To embellish on that more, i would even go as far as forcing a comment in order to recieve the DL. i find the creator would get more out of it, and thats what a community like this is about. its about supporting eachother and broadening your listeners, and/or crit and suggestions. Yes i can see there being a negetive side to this idea, but pros outweighs the cons. If someone enjoys a track enough to DL it they should let the producer/musician know. Kind words go along way, as does constr crit. if given properly of course.

This is an aquired taste, but should be appreciated due to its originality. No Loops, (aside from the intro theme..extracted from a PC game lol) everything was played/sequenced by hand and mixed in cubase4. Lots of layers. Quality wise i think its a good mix considering each entity is independant from eachother so havin everything blend properly took some time. Anyways its a conceptual track i did and would love feedback. Thanks.

you know, a repeated idea in a song is a theme For example, if Beethoven were alive today and wrote his 5th symphony, the opening sequence, (which is a theme) could potentially be re used over and over like a loop, but I really wouldn't call it a loop...

But I agree.. if you want to do a contest on loops, or to prove it's of what could be considered a loop have them submit the "loops" first so we know what we are looking for.

BTW, my favorite apple loop was a recorded live bass that is a bit rumbly..

Also, providing complete info can help in getting specific advise.
For instance, newer MACs their is no need to de-frag since system does it when opening. One of my MACs had a problem once and I ran a disk verify permissions and wound up with every song file from iTunes having been turned into a Quicktime file.
Sometimes you will notice a problem with an application while using it. If so just force quit so that all changes will be lost.
Anyways, did you get if figured out yet?
