@Calchas much thanks to you!
@Xolv much thanks and yes the chords do get indistinguishable at times, I tried mixing this a million different ways and just couldn't seem to put my finger on the right knob so to speak. My new Les Paul makes a partial appearance in this and then the high E broke an hour after I bought the thing. So I switched back to my cheap but trusty Korean Strat. Maybe that is the issue?

@EvilFactman much thanks Evil!
@becwil Thanks for stopping by and yes I compose the drums first, then guitar chords for rhythm guitar, they serve as the skeleton. Then lead guitar or bass. Because I loop everything as I record I can work out the parts on the fly and keep going until I think there is enough music. Oh and yes, I used the auto wah wah pedal available in Garageband for guitar.

I dig the rolling experimentation of this and the textures too. It seems you almost hit on a kind of theme and then take it somewhere else. Ambient Electronica. It sounds like a soundtrack to the study of nerve fibers under an electron microscope!

Heightened Valleys of my Consciousness by revoltington 4 months ago
@brewchugger Thanks dude! I appreciate that. I can give a detailed account of how I put this together.
The night before I recorded it, I tried to come up with a song. I started writing with basic chords and I mutated them into a nervy riff. Most of the chords are pretty basic forms of D, G, A minor and then some more jazzy stuff chord wise. Once I got some kind of idea of what I was going to do with guitar I lay the main idea over some drum tracks I composed in iDrum. They are acoustic drum samples fed into the iDrum. The bass drum and snare are taken from John Bonham's drum outtakes from the In through the Outdoor Sessions. They are on some site where you can download them for free. I isolated the bass drum and snare drum sounds and edit them into wav files that I would feed into the iDrum. All other toms and cymbals were all free acoustic drum samples I have downloaded over the past couple of years. I combined the samples together and composed 10 tracks in 4/4 and then dump them into GarageBand. Then I loop a section of the drum samples and fit the guitar riff to fit the timing and feel of the drum tracks. I do it one section at a time and build up and then once I have a structure put down I add bass last. Drums composed first, add guitar ideas on top and make them fit the random drum ideas and last the bass. That's how I do most of my stuff. It's kind of stream of consciousness recording. But on this occasion I roughed out an idea the night before and recorded it in it's final form in a couple of hours with breaks in between. I mix as I record too.
